We are just over two weeks post placement now, and Nick and I could not be more surprised and impressed at how things are going. We expected a possible honeymoon period, as some kids have post placement. We also were prepared for not having one, and having explosive behavior instead. We have been pleasantly surprised to have experienced neither so far. While emotions have been high, no doubt, ...
Placement day for Leo was August 28th, and we were able to bring him home on August 31st. We are thankful to have settled in quickly, and were able to start school (homeschooling all 5 kids!) on September 4th. We are still figuring out balances, and learning personalities and figuring out relationships. But we are amazed at Leo's strength and ability to learn and adapt. It won't be an easy road...
