Caleb and Hope's Adoption
by Caleb and Hope Helms 5 Lives Impacted
Before we were married, the Lord placed in our hearts the desire to adopt. At that time it was a far and distant dream that we prayed about occ...
We are waiting on approval of our dossier in Costa Rica.
As of this month, we have reached our fundraising goal, debt free (~$50k!)! This is a huge blessing to us that so many of you have been a part of. We are amazed at God's provision for us through all of you. Every time a bill was due there has always been just enough to cover the bill and a little extra to start the next phase. It literally got to the point where I would laugh out loud because I...
We were just notified yesterday that our paperwork has been approved and we are now awaiting our match! This was 2 months earlier than expected, and we are thrilled! We will not be traveling before August 15th due to Caleb's work should we receive a match before then, but we pray it's before the end of the year.

Our dossier (a huge compilation of paperwork and a significant milestone), was all sent to Costa Rica this week for translation!

We are nearly complete with all of our paperwork, we are just waiting on one piece of paper from the Department of State before our papers will be shipped to Costa Rica for translation, approval, and matching. Our best estimate is that we are still 10-12 months aw...
We would appreciate prayers that our home study would wrap up smoothly in the next week or so. There have been delays which have turned it into a four month process! Once we have the home study in hand, we will be able to start applying for grants, file for immigration and move on with the paperwork. Thank you!
Through God's leading our adoption plans have recently changed! We have switched countries in Latin America and will be pursuing a sibling group from Costa Rica. Right now it looks like we are still at least 18 months away from bringing the kids home. We covet your prayers for us!
