Our paperwork was translated and submitted to PANI (the government in Costa Rica), sometime in the last month. We found out this week that our paperwork is in the legal department being reviewed to make sure everything lines up and there are no obvious red flags to them as to why we couldn't be "accepted". Please pray this part of the process continues to go smoothly and there will be no requests for additional documentation, etc. If all goes well, average wait time would have us at the matching phase of this process at the end of March, and traveling in about 8 months (with a 2 month stay in Costa Rica before returning home with the kids). But again, that is average wait time and we are always told to expect a longer wait. :)
Additionally we would appreciate prayer as we embark on the final fundraising we need to do in order to travel! We will be starting a special project in the next couple of months that will benefit a widow and orphans, and we pray it will bring us very close to our final goal amount. To see the way God has provided for us thus far has been incredibly humbling and exciting to watch, and many of you have been a part of that. It has been so much beyond what I anticipated when we first started this journey!
Lastly, we always appreciate prayer as we work through all of the many moving parts and details of this process. It feels like more than a full time job to accomplish fundraising and paperwork in the midst of homeschooling, working multiple jobs, learning Spanish, lining up schooling options and doctors for our kids (when we don't know them yet!), and processing parent training for kids with a trauma background. Not to mention prepping to live in another country for two months! So prayers for wisdom, faithfulness and keeping priorities in line are always needed.
