Final trip is upcoming!
“A” went to the airport Sunday to leave us (for the last time!) from winter hosting, and we were to leave for Ukraine Monday to attend court on Wed.Due to an incredible snowstorm last Sunday, his flight was cancelled and 6 Ukranian kids and a chaperone found themselves stranded in Washington DC. Sunday night I was told that they would all be spending 2 nights in DC and flying out Tuesday. I was...
We have been given final approval by the SDA and our court date has been set for January 16th at 4 PM!”A” will leave from winter hosting January 13th.It’s a busy and exciting time. After court we have a 30 day waiting period and then HOME! We will be so glad to have the process behind us and move forward as a family of 5.Thank you all for your prayers and support! Blessings!
I am pleased to say that everything has been completed as far as the process here during our first trip! It has all went smoothly. We travelled to his orphanage yesterday and it was a really wonderful day. Trip 1 of 3 in December!
December 12th!!Trip 1 of 3 is happening!!!
We received word that our Dossier has been approved! We are waiting for travel dates, but it looks like it will be around Dec 10!You cannot imagine the weight that is off our shoulders now.
After more paperwork nightmares than you can shake a stick at, our dossier will finally be submitted to the Ukrainian powers that be TOMORROW!Then, we wait to hear of our approval or rejection, which is followed by us receiving an invitation and a date for our appointment with the State Department of Adoptions in Ukraine.
We have had a few paperwork “issues”, but if all goes well, our dossier should be translated and submitted in Ukraine this week.Considering our delays, we have had to consider if hosting “A” over the winter holiday is the best decision. We are leaning in that direction (unfortunately). I had wished he would be officially home for Christmas, but that seems very unlikely at this point. This of co...
Fed ex tells me it will arrive by next Friday. At that point it will be translated and submitted which should take a week or so. Other families have been receiving invites very quickly lately, so I’m hopeful things are moving along!”A” did not want to go back yesterday when he left after a summer here. And the house feels very empty without him.
It will all now be sent to Ukraine for translation and submission. Please pray for all to move along smoothly.
We have all our paperwork completed! Now we will proceed with the apostilling process and then submission to Ukraine!Once this occurs (if all goes well, within a week or 2), we will then wait for our invitation from the country of Ukraine to travel for our first of 3 trips required before we can bring "A" home. In the meantime, "A" has been with our family for 6 weeks now, and he will be with u...
We have finally finished our home study and it is approved. We are now just waiting for one important piece of paperwork from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (which I started that approval process in April for btw) and we will be ready to have everything Apostilled, then translated and sent to the country of Ukraine.Additionally, we are picking up our "A" next Friday the 15th to b...
