WILL YOU HELP US FILL IN THE MISSING PIECE?

Have you ever had that feeling something is missing from your life? Well we have/do know that feeling at the Yaw household and that’s why we are seeking to add the “missing piece” to our family. And we are hoping you can help us in fill in the piece.

Adoption is expensive. Crazy expensive! Unfortunately, this reality keeps so many amazing couples from taking the steps to adopt. But Heidi & I will not be discouraged by this sad fact, instead through prayer and the support of family & friends we continue to push forward to add to our family. We currently in the home study process and have talked with many interested friends who are sharing the news that we are adopting. But the one question that continues to get asked throughout this process by concerned people is “the cost.” I would be lying if I said those upcoming payments didn’t make me anxious, but they do. However, we continue to pray, save, work hard, and do what we can as we prepare to enlarge our family.

When Heidi & I first made the decision to adopt, one of the things that we wrestled over was whether or not we would do any fundraising. In a perfect world, we wouldn’t have to. There aren’t many things more humbling than asking other people for money! It sucks honestly! It’s uncomfortable. It’s vulnerable. The more we have talked about it though, the more we understand that it isn’t about asking people for money, but instead asking them to be a part of our story. A story of, “Filling in the missing piece” in how our future child got to come home.

So we are so excited to invite you to join us in the ‘PUZZLE FUNDRAISER!’

It works like this:

1)     A 600 piece puzzle created. 

2)     We are “selling” each piece for $20. You can choose to buy 1, 2, 3, or 10! There is no limit! You can even go half with a friend!

3)     To purchase go to our donation page via Pure Charity (https://www.purecharity.com/yaw-adoption?aff=4rmye)  click the “Donate to this Fundraiser” button or you can email me (yawfamily@netnet.net) for our address and send a check in the mail.

4)     Once you purchase a piece (make a donation), we will write your name on the back of one of the puzzle pieces and send you a picture.

5)     As pieces are “sold”, we will put the puzzle together.
Once the picture is complete we will hang it in a double-sided glass frame in our future child’s room so that he/she can always look back and be reminded of who had a “piece” of bringing them home!

I can picture us sitting down with our kids, reading the names to them and explaining that these are all of the wonderful people who loved them before they even knew them. These are the people who brought them home. Isn’t that the cutest?!?! We just love it! We will keep the blog updated with progress in the puzzle and a list of amazing donors.

So, our goal with this Puzzle Fundraiser is to sell all 600 pieces which will raise $12,000!!!! That will help take care of some of the adoption fees. How amazing would that be?!?!
