Our water teams travel to Burundi villages to demonstrate electrolysis water purification and to distribute a puride solution made from the units. Each bottle of puride cleans up to 500 gallons of water. That equates to about 100 families receiving clean water each day from a single bottle. It takes about 10 minutes to produce a bottle of puride and it costs only pennies to produce.
We have been using an electrolysis water purification system that runs on batteries. We recently purchased 3 new batteries thanks to a generous donation from a church in Iowa. The funds we are raising here will go toward a permanent well. Our water purification system has been a work in progress for over 2 years. We have been able to help several hundred people with the clean water.
We have engaged a hydrologist to analyze the well site and advise us on the depth of the well and water quality. It will cost $1500 to complete a full survey. The good news is that it is possible for us to get enough water to supply more than the 250 people we are conservatively estimating. We won't know until the survey is completed.
