Remember the little engine that could? That little guy was determined that he would get up the mountain reminding himself all along the way, "I think I can, I think I can...". That is where we are in the adoption process. We continue to prepare our lives for this precious little boy who we trust and believe God has waiting for us. But, it is not easy. Each time that we think we have turned in the last form, the adoption agency will inform us that they need another one. "I think I can, I think I can...". Each time we begin to feel confident that we will have all of the funding, fear will set in about that big number that stares us in the face. "I think I can, I think I can...". Because so many of you are absolutely with us in this journey, here are a few behind the scenes glances at how we are preparing our hearts to bring Justice home.
1. For Christmas this year, the girls told us that they would rather have a little brother than Christmas gifts. So presh.
2. We have finished all necessary trainings that we can do on our own. Waiting only for one more training provided by the agency.
3. We have been assigned a caseworker. Still awaiting notification from him/her about when our home studies will begin.
4. On Monday nights, we have family devotion time. Each week, we will each pray for our adopted son's birth mommy. We know that she has a very hard decision ahead of her and we feel so grateful for her, whoever she may be. It melts our hearts to hear little Ella pray, "Dear God, thank you for the mommy who has Justice in her belly. Please help her feel safe that we will be a good family."
It's all in HIs time and for His glory. We absolutely "think we can."
