A good day Posted about ago

YAY! We are so excited - today we put our I-800A application in the mail. We have been compiling the necessary documentation for our immigration paperwork for months and months so this is a huge deal. Woohoo! I don't get to carry this child the way I did Daphne, Clark, & Neil. I won't have those ultrasound appointments or an app on my phone telling me what's new in their development each week. I don't get to feel kicks, I will likely miss many of their first milestones like rolling over, solid foods, first words, first steps. But days like today are special in a new way. We are one big, concrete step closer. We feel joy, excitement, and thankfulness today.

So what's left on our checklist?
1. US Citizenship & Immigration Services will confirm our application is approved by sending us an appointment time to get our fingerprints done. (approximately 4-6 weeks out)
2. We will need to get our fingerprints apostilled by the Federal Government. (approximately 4-6 week wait time)
3. Our dossier is completed with Colombia. (translation & approval can take another 8+ weeks)

We can be matched with waiting children at any point even before these final 3 steps are completed. Every time the phone rings I feel like my heart skips a beat. Waiting on God's time, staying fueled via prayer.

Thank you thank you thank you again for all of you who have been following our journey and giving your support & prayers!
