We are making great headway into the first required set of classes! We're learning so much about child development, trauma's effects on the brain & relationships, and strategies to help our child heal when they are in our home. We've started placing orders for copies of birth certificates, marriage license, etc and have submitted the last of our home study documents. The next step is the dossier which is all the required paperwork that Colombia asks for. The dossier paperwork is extensive & there are lots of steps that are dependent on others so it takes time. Our goal is to have our home study complete by summer (was slightly delayed by our classes being moved to an online format & our exchange student being able to stay longer than planned with COVID putting the kabosh on his plans to return home to SA for the summer). One the home study is complete we will begin our I-800 paperwork (US immigration) and go back for more fingerprints & physician sign-offs. Thank you for all your prayers & support!
