Tonnia is the second born of two siblings. She comes from a polygamous family where her mother was the second wife. After the death of Tonnia’s father, her mother left her in the custody of the first wife.

Tonnia Erics Otieno was born on 22nd October 2017. Tonnia joined CGA Pre-primary Two in January 2024. She is the second born in a family of two siblings. Tonia comes from a polygamous family whereby her mother was the second wife. After the death of the father, her mother left her in the custody of her father's first wife and married another man. Tonnia lives with her stepmother, who is on daily medication, and with her step siblings and relatives in a rental one-bedroom semi-permanent house in a rural set-up. Their home is about a 45-minute walk from CGA. They do not have a pit latrine in the compound but share with neighbors. They get water from the lake or harvest rainwater for washing and treat the same for drinking. They use solar for lighting and charcoal or firewood for cooking. Tonnia sleeps on a mattress spread on the floor under a mosquito net shared with other stepsiblings. Tonnia's stepmother does odd jobs to help support the family. Tonnia is excited to have joined CGA.
