Shantel is the second born in a family of three children and she has a physical impairment. She has already undergone two corrective limb surgeries on her feet and her hands. Shantel lives with her single mother who is a casual laborer. She loves to play with dolls. Shantel is enrolled in school. With the help of a sponsor, Shantel will continue to be able to attend school, benefit from medical treatments and therapies, receive advocacy in her community, and will have the opportunity to reach her full potential.
