Samanther Tendo is the first-born child in a family of two siblings. She lives with her widowed step-grandmother who works at a fish factory. They live about a 45-minute walk from CGA. Samanther is jovial and outgoing and loves to come to school.

Samanther Tendo was born on September 5th, 2017. She previously attended a public primary school close to her home. She joined CGA Pre-primary 2 in January 2024. Samanther is the first-born child in a family of two siblings. She lives with her widowed step-grandmother who is on daily medication together with her three step-uncles who attend CGA. Her mother bore her when she was in high school and left her in the custody of her stepmother because of struggles. Samanther's step-grandmother works at a fish factory to support the family. Samanther sleeps on a bed and a mattress under a mosquito net shared with her step-grandmother. They live in a permanent house about a 45-minute walk from CGA and a 10 minute walk to the nearest shop and road. They get water from the lake for washing and cooking and buy drinking water from a vendor. They have a pit latrine that they share with other family members. They use solar for lighting and charcoal or firewood for cooking. Samanther is a jovial and outgoing girl and loves coming to school daily.
