Rolex Ayoo was born on September 3rd, 2016. He previously attended a public primary school before joining CGA's Pre-primary Two in January 2024. He is the last born in a family of three siblings. After the death of his mother, Rolex and one of his siblings moved to stay with their aged widowed paternal grandmother because the father was irresponsible and alcoholic. They live with their grandmother in a one-bedroom tin house in a rural setup. Their home is located on the east side of CGA about a 40-minute walk away. The grandmother helps fishermen pull their nets on the land and in return, gets fish which she sells or takes home as food. They harvest rainwater for washing, cooking, and drinking and sometimes buy from a running tap that is near their homestead. They use candles for lighting and charcoal for cooking. Rolex sleeps on a mat spread on the floor together with his sibling. They have a toilet in the compound that they share with other family members.
