Patrick was born at home with the help of a midwife. His parents thought that his speech was delayed, however he was observed in the hospital when he was three years old and was diagnosed with a hearing impairment. Patrick now attends the Givavei Special School for the Hearing Impaired. He communicates with sign language. Patrick is the youngest of three children and his parents are small scale farmers. He loves to play soccer. With the help of a sponsor, Patrick will continue to attend school, receive support and advocacy in his community, and will have the opportunity to reach his full potential.
