Mercy was born on August 23, 2020, and will be joining Pre-Primary 1 in January 2025. She lives with both her parents and two older sisters, about a fifteen-minute walk from C.G.A. One of her sisters has been battling brain cancer for nearly two years, which has placed a significant financial strain on the family. Mercy’s father is currently unemployed, while her mother runs a small business to support the household. The family lives in a spacious permanent house with access to running water and electricity. They use firewood and charcoal for cooking and have a pit latrine within their compound. Mercy sleeps on a bed with a mattress under a mosquito net. Her father expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity for Mercy to join the C.G.A. program.
