Japheth Odhiambo is the second born of three siblings. His father died in early 2022 leaving Japheth and his brothers under the care of their mother. The family has no running water and depends on lake water for cooking and washing.

Japheth Odhiambo was born on 6th February 2014. He is the second born in a family of three siblings. His father died in early 2022 leaving Japheth and his brothers under the care of their mother. He joined CGA grade two on January 19, 2024 after attending a nearby private primary school. The mother supports the family through fish mongering at a local beach. They live in a two-room tin house about an hour's walk from Christ's Gift Academy. The family has no running water and depends on lake water for cooking and washing. However, they get drinking water from a local vendor at a nearby beach. Japheth's family depends on solar energy for lighting. He and his two siblings sleep on a mattress with a blanket spread on the floor under a mosquito net.
