Fancy Achieng lives with her maternal aunt after her mother passed away in 2020. The family lives close to the lakefront where they fetch water for drinking. They have solar for cooking. Fancy shares a mattress on the floor with other children.

Fancy Achieng was born on August 10th, 2016. She will join grade 3 in January 2025. She lives with her maternal aunt after her mother passed away in 2020. The aunt also took custody of Fancy’s elder brother who attends a neighboring primary school. Her father’s whereabouts is unknown. The aunt and her husband have seven other children under their care, and having Fancy join CGA will ease the family’s burden. They live in a permanent house close to the lakefront. They fetch and treat water from the lake for drinking and cooking and use the same for cleaning. They have solar kit for lighting and use both firewood and charcoal for cooking. Fancy shares a mattress spread on the floor with other children in the family. She is very friendly, and we hope she will do better at CGA.
