Emmanuel Ooko was born on March 4, 2016. He joined CGA Grade Two in 2026. He lives with his widowed mother and three older siblings, about a thirty-minute walk from CGA. One of his older brothers joined CGA the previous year. His mother supports the family by assisting fishmongers to dry fish at the local beach and earning daily commissions. They live in a two-room tin-sided house provided by a neighbor. The household has no running water or electricity and fetches water from the lake for cleaning and cooking. They use solar energy for lighting and firewood, propane gas, and charcoal for cooking. Emmanuel shares a bed and mattress under a mosquito net.
