Christine Atieno lives with her maternal aunt and one older sister. Her father passed away in May 2022. Her mother and three older siblings live at their rural home across the lake. They live in a mud walled house with cemented floor.

Christine Atieno was born on April 4th, 2018. She will join CGA Pre-Primary 2 in January 2025 after attending a local Nursery school in her neighborhood. Her father passed away in May 2022 following a long battle with a terminal disease. While her rural home is on the other side of the lake, she lives in Mbita with her maternal aunt and one of her older sisters. Her mother and three older siblings live at their rural home across the lake. The guardian family has six other children under their care. They live in a mud-wall house with cemented floor and tin roof about forty minutes’ walk from CGA. They fetch water from the lake for cleaning and cooking and treat the same for drinking. They have an outside kitchen and use both firewood and charcoal for cooking. Christine sleeps on a mattress spread on the floor under a mosquito net. The family is grateful for the opportunity at CGA.
