Benitah is the firstborn of two siblings. She lives with her aged grandmother together with her cousin. The grandmother supports the two grandchildren by selling chicken in the neighborhood. Benitah sleeps on joined pieces of mattress on the floor.

Benitah Perpeture was born on September 19th, 2014. She joined CGA grade two class in January 2024. She is the firstborn of two siblings in her family. She previously attended a local public primary school next to her home. Benitah lives with her aged widowed maternal grandmother together with her cousin who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Her grandmother supports the two grandchildren by selling chicken in the neighborhood and at the local market. Her mother gave birth to her while she was still in high school and currently is married in the neighboring country. Benitah's father is at large, and her stepfather is not willing to take her in hence she is forced to stay with her maternal grandmother. Benitah and her grandmother stay in a two-bedroomed permanent house about 45 minute walk from CGA and ten minutes away from the road and local shops. They have a pit latrine which they share with other families in the larger compound. They collect water for both cooking and washing and treat it for drinking. Benitah sleeps on joined pieces of mattress on the floor with a blanket under a mosquito net.
