James says "true and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this, to care for widows and orphans in their distress" At Esther's we don't only have a heart for the children of Malawi, but also for the incredible women that make up our widows ministry. These women live in villages near Esther's House. Many of them are working tirelessly to care for grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They are an amazing and inspiring group of women.

There are currently 75 women enrolled in the Widows Program at Esther's House who all need a sponsor to come alongside them to help aid in their everyday needs. The one widow listed for sponsorship is representative of the entire community. Every month Pure Mission selects one of our widows to represent the Widow Sponsorship Program and tells their story. We love our widows, and are excited to share a piece of their lives with you.

We work to come alongside these women, to encourage them and ease the reality of their day to day lives.  As a widow in our program, they are welcomed in for a hot meal served by the children every Saturday afternoon.  Then the women enjoy a time of fellowship and worship.  They are lead through scripture by one of our Esther's House staff members and share in a beautiful time of worship and dance.

As a Sponsor of our Widows program, you get to come alongside Esther's House to provide assistance with food, clothing, bedding, and medical care. Esther’s House also conducts an annual assessment for maintenance and improvements to the women's home.  Esther’s house also supplies them with at the beginning of growing season to assist in the annual crop production. As a sponsor in this program, you will get a chance to share in these women’s lives and ease the burden of their everyday struggles.
