Our work in Jinja, Uganda, is centered in Buwenda village, a place that lies on the outskirts of Jinja both geographically and socially. The majority of its 1,600 residents are women and children under the age of 40.

Help One Now’s program in Jinja centers around His Mercy Church, where our local leader Edward Magumba is the pastor. Under his leadership, vulnerable children are sponsored and are thus able to attend school. These children are primarily from the community immediately surrounding the church, and thankfully, most do live with their families.
