The background story...
Ndeke Evangelical Church of Zambia is no stranger to the orphan crisis. The church has been a beacon of hope for 20 years in their struggling urban community. Early on, they looked at the path of destruction left by AIDS and poverty and determined to respond intentionally to the growing number of orphans in the region. They started by meeting the basic needs of one 5th grade boy. But the needs far surpassed local resources...
Then, in 2010 Ndeke ECZ became an orphan care partner with Forgotten Voices International. Their ministry in the community has grown exponentially and they are on their way to eventually generating enough income to sustain their expanded services without outside funding. Read their current impact and goals at the end of the story.
Backing this project means coming alongside Ndeke's orphan care ministry with 4 months of funding to meet physical and emotional needs of orphaned and vulnerable children, and invest in initiatives to strengthen the entire community. Backing this project will also make you a partner with a truly trans-formative church community – one that knows the unique needs of people and fosters a community where everyone can both give and receive. Come alongside Pastor Vincent, whose own family leads by example, having taken in several children who had no where else to go.

Come alongside these amazing women - widows whose children have had their school fees paid by the church and who have in turn become volunteer Home Based Care providers. They invest their time in the needs of others, even as the church invests funds in their own child’s education.

Come alongside Memory. She lost her father at an early age and her mother had to move away to find work. Now being raised by an older brother who periodically can find employment as a driver. Memory relies on Ndeke ECZ to keep her in school, check in on her often and collaborate on meeting other needs as they arise. She's nearing the end of high school and hopes to be a nurse to help relieve suffering, knowing firsthand how it impacts a family. In the meantime, she actively gives back to the church that surrounded her with care. She's on the youth praise team and serves as youth secretary.
