Moldova is the world’s #1 trafficking source nation. Since 1991, over 450,000 girls have gone missing from Moldova, Europe's poorest nation. This is largely due to their high numbers of orphans; all of whom are cast out of orphanages at age 16. With no place to go and no skills to get hired, they wind up on the streets where girls are taken by Russian or Turkish mafia to be brutally exploited through sex trafficking. Most will not live to see their 30th birthday.


Having a simple skill can save a girl's life.

Rescue Her had the privilege of hosting a four-day camp for young girls from various orphanages that are either at high risk of being trafficked or had been rescued from the trafficking industry. We taught young girls in transition homes skills that they can use to legitimately earn money when they have to leave the home. These skills may be the only thing keeping them alive and away from the hands of traffickers once they are on their own.

Our team taught classes on skills such as:

• Baking treats
• Barista and specialty coffee brewing
• Bicycle repair
• Natural lip balm and body scrub making
• Crafting cute journals and custom cards
• Sewing and crocheting clutches, scarves, and hair wraps
• Hair styling
• Jewelry making

The girls LOVED camp! They were so eager to make these skills their own. Our team brought supplies to teach these skills to 40 girls. God showed up and brought 80 girls to us!!! Because this is double the number of girls we prepared for, it unexpectedly doubled our expenses! These expenses include food, water, and specific supplies pertaining to skill classes such as yarn for crocheting, paper for journal-making, and coffee for barista training. We need your help to pay back the camp, so that we can continue to host Camp Flourish with more girls in the future! We are very excited about this partnership and the way it is providing hope for young girls at risk in Moldova!
