Hey, Y'all! Happy Friday :) This weekend, Feb 21st, celebrates one month since we signed our contract with our agency and began this wonderful journey!  It seems like just yesterday we went through those 15 pages of signatures, but at the same time, it seems like with all the training and paper work we've done in the past month that it's been way longer! It's all blurring together.

We only have one more class until we "graduate" from our training! It should have ended this past week, but due to lovely snow days.. we had a class get bumped back. After we complete our training, we will schedule our home study and wrap up our remaining paperwork and requirements. We've got a long list still, but the we can see it all coming together! And as hectic as life has been this past month, we know it's just bracing us for what's to come with having a little one in the house. But we truly will miss seeing the other 7 couples several times a week, as well as our amazing social worker, and just learning so much!

If you asked us a month ago what our thoughts and views and expectations were, we wouldn't have the same answer as we do now. We've learned so much about semi-open and open adoptions, met with the interim families that will take care of our sweet baby for their first 30 days of life,  met a birthmother who made an adoption plan for her child, and everything in between. It's been simply amazing, and wonderful experience. Many circumstances are "bracing us for worst case", if it is a medical issues, parents choosing to care for their child even after signing consent (before 30 day period is up), behavioral issues in children, or having to cut people from our lives because they don't respect the adoption situation we're in or our decisions with our child. But it's hard to see the worst case, and can really hit home in these classes, but we know they will only help us in the long run, and will help give us confidence and reassurance should we hit any of these situations!

If you're bored one day, and have Netflix.. check out the documentary "Closure". We watched it on Wednesday in class, and it was incredible! It's a documentary from a girl who was adopted as a baby and then her journey to reconnect with her birth family.

Also, MAJOR thanks! We sold a TON (40+ dozen) cake balls this past weekend, and many of you were so generous and also gave more than what your total was, and wished us well on our journey! Because of all of that, we were able to add another $625 to our fundraising! We are now at 15% towards our goal! AMAZING!

We are quickly approaching our fundraisers in March, and sign up is still open for our wine and design ! And don't forget to come by the DBN event at Mt Olive Farm March 12th and 13th!
