"Twalumba" to all of our backers!

Thanks to 19 generous backers, our Ndeke Orphan Care Challenge was fully funded in 36 days! This was truly a community effort in the broad sense of the word. Folks gave from 4 different states and 3 different countries. And for many, this was their first time to support the ministry of Forgotten Voices. Amazing and exciting!
To all of you, we say “TWALUMBA” which means “thank you” in Tonga – one of the local languages spoken around the Ndeke community in Zambia. And because of this community of backers, the funds needed for the remainder of Ndeke Evangelical Church’s orphan care ministry in 2013 have been secured. This means immediate and long-term support will continue for children like Precious, pictured below.
Pastor Vincent just sent us this update on one aspect of his church's outreach to orphaned and vulnerable children, “As Ndeke ECZ we are committed to ensuring that the orphaned children are taken to school and are supported by provision of foodstuffs. The girl in picture is Precious. She is in Grade 12 this year. The man giving school requirements and foodstuff is a deacon named Seya.”
On behalf of Precious, Seya, Pastor Vincent and all those invested in the orphan care ministry of Ndeke ECZ, we say thank you. And welcome! If you backed this fundraising challenge, you’re part of our team now.
Lastly…keep and eye on our Forgotten Voices Pure Charity page for an announcement about our next fundraising challenge! In the meantime, you can visit our blog at www.forgottenvoices.org/blog or find us on Facebook to keep up to date on our work across Zimbabwe and Zambia.
