We have BIG news!

We are adopting two sisters, ages 6 and 11 from Brazil. They are beautiful children, who are curious, joyful and intelligent. We have seen many pictures of them, read about them, and video-chatted with them.

After a few years of marriage and an attempt to have a biological child through fertility treatments, we decided to adopt instead. Not only to fulfill our dream of having a family, but also to help children who need love and a home. Sandy's family is Brazilian, so we chose to adopt from Brazil.

We started this international adoption process more than 4 years ago. We patiently waited, and earlier this year we were matched with these two girls.

Without us, these two sisters would have been separated, perhaps for life, but now they will be together as part of our family.

We are now approaching the final stage of our journey – which involves an actual journey – and we need your help to bring these girls to their new home with us. 

We are going to Brazil for six weeks...  First, to live as a family for a month under court supervision, then a couple more weeks after that in various cities to finalize all paperwork and fulfill legal requirements. 

There will be a lot of expenses (lodging, food, transportation, fees) incurred in another hemisphere, for an event which will change our lives and these children's forever. When we fly off the tarmac to come home, they will be our daughters and be our family. 

So, we have started this tax-deductible crowdfunding campaign to help us run this final gauntlet to bring these girls home with us.
