Saturday, December 19, 2020It's nearly midnight but I must post an important update. Two days ago, on Thursday, December 17, our adoption of Nicole became final! Nadia took court documents that say Nicole is officially our daughter, and then picked up a new birth certificate, which she dropped off with the Ukrainian passport application. It was a busy day for Nadia and our facilitator Alla, ...
Wednesday, December 16, 2020Well tomorrow is the big day, when we receive court documents that will formalize the completion of our adoption of Nicole! We are so excited to finally reach this point, though it now means everything will speed up dramatically, as we prepare to go home. The first step will occur when our facilitator Alla retrieves the court documents, and we hope that will occur ...
Thursday, December 3, 2020Since my last update, we've seen some progress with Nicole, as Nadia continues to visit her daily and patiently teach her to consume food orally. We truly appreciate your help and will try to keep everyone better informed moving forward! Since our last update, Nadia has been visiting Nicole at the orphanage every weekday, and I've continued to focus on work and spend time with the kids. There is some important n...

We spent a few days getting acclimated to our apartment and new time zone, and deciding how to organize ourselves for Sava to attend school remotely, and for me to handle my work from Ukraine, thanks to the wonders of WiFi. It's been fairly easy for us to navigate the city, with Nadia able to handle the communication with most peopl...
10/3/20Our travel plans are all set, at least for our journey to Kiev! We don't know exactly how long this process will take, and normally we would be required to make three separate trips overseas, but the pandemic provides an opportunity for us to work/school remotely while getting to know our daughter.
