We made it home 5 weeks ago! We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. We were in Costa Rica for 6 weeks. We met our our children, Valeria and Ethan (new names), got to know them, and then took custody. About 2 weeks later, the adoption was granted by the courts. There were many steps to complete in Costa Rica. In between all the the steps, we tried to have fun and visit places around the country....

We are with our new children! The court day is tomorrow! There are several more steps after tomorrow to bring everyone home to the states, but we're half way there.

We received our approval from immigration! We've started the next set of paperwork for the State Department. We're awaiting on our court date. We hope to have another update soon.

Our immigration paperwork (part 2) has been sent for the children. We've been approved to adopt children from another country by USCIS. Now we await the approval for the specific children we've been match to. This may take a little longer with COVID-19 slow down. Once we get the approval, we will get a court date in Costa Rica. During the current COVID-19 lockdowns, our dossier was finalized and sent to Costa Rica. Everyone is working from home, but Costa Rica continued review and approve dossiers. We're excited to have us approved. We're still waiting to receive the match with the children. We have more paperwork that will be due once we are matched with the children. We finally have our home study approved and we're working on our dossier paperwork! We're excited to move through this next phase. We hope to have this paperwork completed in the next couple of months. We've sent the paperwork and money off for our birth certificates, marriage certificate, and our I-800A application. On some of this, we're just waiting. We're trying to do as much as we can ASAP...

We completed our home study sessions. We're working on updating a couple pieces of items for the completion. We started this process of the home study 10 months ago, so a few things have changed. Please pray for our social worker as she completes our home study write up. We hope to have things wrapped up and approved shortly.
