Before we were married, the Lord placed in our hearts the desire to adopt. At that time it was a far and distant dream that we prayed about occasionally, but as we started our family 4 years ago we began praying with regularity that God would show us when we were to adopt. We believe that time is now.

One of our primary motivations for adoption is the weight of our spiritual adoption in Christ. Paul portrays this spiritual reality vividly in Galatians 4, when he talks about our transition from being slaves to sin, to becoming heirs of God in verse 7: "So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God." This spectacular transformation from slaves to joint heirs with Christ (not just sons!) should evoke the greatest amount of gratitude from believers, and has ignited a passion in us to portray the spiritual picture of adoption through physical adoption.

When we began researching adoption, we were open to a lot of domestic and international options. It has taken quite a while to research and pray through the different paths before us. We felt like domestic adoption made more of a pro-life statement in our culture and international adoption emphasized proclaiming the gospel to all peoples and nations--both wonderful causes and things we are passionate about.

After much deliberation we believe God has given us direction to adopt internationally from Latin America at this time. Family and some friends as well as our church elders have been praying with us regarding adoption since the spring, and now we invite you to join us as we pray and walk this journey.

As we look at the mountain of expenses in front of us (~$40k), we are overwhelmed. We realize we will need the support of the Christian community we are surrounded with because we are unable to do this by ourselves, and we trust that God will provide a way for the calling He has placed on our hearts.
