• Over 46% of the 52 million people in Tanzania live without access to an improved water source. 

• Over 3,000 children under the age of 5 die every year due to poor water and sanitation. 

• Typically, women and children spend over two hours a day collecting water, and up to seven hours in remote areas, which significantly hinders their ability to get an education. 

Bringing clean water can help heal the physical crisis while opening the door for opportunities to minister to the spiritual need of the people of Tanzania. Since 2012, the Schmidt’s have been able to drill 45 wells that have provided clean water for an estimated 40,000 people.
