Family and friends,

We have exciting news to share!  We have started the process to adopt a special needs orphan from China.  Adoption has been on our hearts for years and we finally found the courage to begin the process.  A verse that the Lord has continually brought forth is from Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified…for the LORD your God goes with you… We are ready Lord, and can’t wait to see what you have in store for our family!

We chose China because Asia is believed to have the largest number of orphaned children in the world: 60 million.  China previously had a one-child policy.  As you may know, that recently changed to a two-child policy.  While that is a step in the right direction, until more change takes place in China's systems, children born with any form of medical need (even a minor need) will likely continue to be abandoned.  This leaves millions of precious orphans in need of a loving home. We feel we can meet that need. We can make a difference in the life of an orphan.

We know that the Lord goes with us on this journey, and we want to invite you to go with us as well.  We cannot do this without the encouragement and support of those around us.  Would you please pray for us and for the child the Lord has already chosen us for? We can’t wait to meet them!  We can’t wait for you to meet them!  As you pray for our family, please pray for the millions of children still waiting for their forever family – the orphans all over the world.

We humbly ask you to partner with us financially.  Adoption requires a significant financial investment.  The total cost for adoption from China is estimated at just under $40,000. That includes agency fees, travel, paperwork, attorney fees, visas, fingerprints, etc.  We have already begun making deposits toward our adoption and will continue to do so from our own finances.  If you are led to join us in this endeavor, we know God will multiply your gifts, however big or small!  

If you cannot contribute financially, please invest in our family through fervent prayer!  
God will provide. We know that what seems impossible to us is possible for God!  It takes a village to raise a child, we need you. Will you join our village?

One of our favorite pastors, Andy Stanley, has a sermon titled “One, Not Every One”. In this teaching he says, “Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone. Don’t not do for one just because you can’t do for everyone”.  We can’t rescue every orphan, but we can rescue one. Would you please help us do for our child what we wish we could do for every orphan?
