We are adopting and couldn’t be more excited!

When we first got married, Luke and I knew that adoption was a part of God’s plan but we had no idea when and where it would take place. After some years of infertility it was clear that it was not our time to have a child biologically, so we started researching more about international and domestic adoption. Since we have been on numerous mission trips outside of the United States, we had international adoption heavy on our hearts so we started pursuing that option. The door closed on this process before we even got started. We had another opportunity to potentially adopt domestically but shortly after starting fostering classes, the door was closed on this as well. After a couple of calls to request to be on a list to adopt a newborn, we were told there was a waiting list for the waiting list. We finally stopped searching and decided to wait and we both came to peace with that decision.

Less than a year later, God brought an opportunity to us like no other. April 4th, 2021, we were asked by a friend who was 10 weeks pregnant if we would be open to adopting her baby. We of course said yes and immediately started the journey in hiring a lawyer and setting up a home study. On May 13th the birth father legally signed his rights away and the birth mother is still confident in her decision. The due date is November 1st and we are looking forward to meeting this sweet baby that is chosen, wanted, and oh so loved.

As you may already know, adoption can get quite expensive! We have set a total goal of $10,000 to help offset the lawyer, home study, and court fees. We have already raised around $3,000 of that amount before launching this campaign.

As we continue this journey we pray that God uses this blessing in the way He sees fit and that we continue to trust Him with all the details. We hope you will come alongside us in praying for the birth parents, the baby, and God’s will to be done through this adoption.
