My wife, Lisa, and our two kids (at the time) Brynna and Regan, had the honor of traveling to Nicaragua in January '14.  We decided to take this trip largely for our family to experience first hand the impact a non-profit organization we support is making in the lives of so many Nicaraguans.  The organization I speak of is SuNica.  

In short, SuNica (or "Your Nicaragua" in English) is all about giving the Nicaraguan people the ability to thrive through access to clean water, education and economic opportunities (Learn more here:  http://sunica.org/our_story).  

The passion our family witnessed, possessed within the team of individuals we met on the ground actually taking action, implementing, and truly living this vision out on a daily basis blew us away.  One of those people specifically stood out for us- his name is Mario Moraga.  

Mario is SuNica's social coordinator- he is the man on the ground, essentially the project manager, responsible for ensuring water projects go as planned.  What this means is, because of Mario's work, communities in Nicaragua now have access to clean drinking water, actually saving lives of those within these communities.  This is huge!  Without Mario and his keen ability to engage all working bodies on these life saving projects, this simply would not be possible.  

And this is exactly why my family has committed to raising a portion ($5000) of Mario's salary. Plain and simple, without our support, SuNica loses an incredibly valuable asset to their organization.  For every donation made, up to $2500, my family will match dollar for dollar!
