EXCITING NEWS! I've decided to adopt a child! We're so excited to give a child an opportunity to grow up in our home and teach her the best things that we know.
As a single mom, I feel God's call to give an orphan in China a forever home. To be honest, I have no idea how this is all going to happen, I just have faith in God as I'm answering His call. I know I can't save all the orphans in the world, but I can save one. Cade, almost 9 years old, is excited about getting a little sister, and I'm excited about expanding my family.
I went to visit a couple orphanages in China Spring of 2014, and fell in love with China, the people and all the orphans. It was hard for me to leave. I knew once I got back to USA, I had to start the process of adoption. I'm stepping in bold faith, and excited to take on the journey of international adoption.
You all know that adoption is not cheap. I'm an intentional steward of the money God gives me to manage but no…I don’t have a spare $30,000 laying in the bank for adoption.
With time I could save that amount on our own but through praying about this for the past several months, I feel a strong call to invite others to help us financially in bringing our little girl home. In our self-sufficient society, I hear God asking me specifically to make myself vulnerable in this way.
If there is one theme that has been showing up in my prayers, it’s that God is writing a story here and I am simply along for the ride and need to hold on tight. This adoption is not just a means of growing our family. It can be a way to bring The Body of Christ together to answer God’s call to care for a child in need of parents.
Who I am to prevent YOU from being able to answer this call in a concrete way by supporting my adoption efforts financially? For many, perhaps even yourself, this will be the only chance to care for a child in this situation in an up close and personal way and I invite you to come alongside us in this journey.
I've started a fundraiser on here -Pure Charity -to raise the funding that I need to make my adoption a success. I have a donation goal of $29,000 that will go towards the initial cost of the adoption. If you feel lead please consider making a donation either via this website or other avenues I am taking to fund raise.
Every donation is important and will help make this adoption a success. Would you kindly consider making a donation? Also, I would appreciate your willingness to share this with others who may want to participate.
I am also doing a "Puzzle Fundraiser" since your are part of the big puzzle!
Here’s how it works:
- I have designed a beautiful 1,000 piece puzzle (see picture of it in my blog - BringingHomeMyDaughter.blogspot.com)
- Each piece can be purchased for a $25 donation or more
- You can buy one or many puzzle pieces
- Your name and personalized message (optional) will be written on the pieces you purchase scaled to size
After the puzzle is completed, I will frame the puzzle between two pieces of glass and hang it in her room. This will be a wonderful keepsake to see all the people who loved her before she came to her forever home.
