A vibrant nation that is rich in Mayan heritage, Guatemala continues to develop after years of civil and ethnic unrest. Guatemala has the 6th highest rate of growth stunting of children due to malnutrition, according to a 2019 UNICEF report. About 1 million children under the age of 5 suffer from chronic malnutrition. Stunted growth can cause severe development delays and increases the risk of death. There is work to be done, and we need mission volunteers to come alongside us and support this ministry! Through targeted feeding programs, integrated social work counseling and education accountability, children and families in our programs have access to the support they need to thrive. Lives are being changed in Guatemala because of people like you!
