Привіт! Hello!
Ever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to adopt. My mom took me and my sister to see the musical "Annie" and I knew from that moment on. As for Rick, let's, just say, he had something different in mind.
Rick and I met at my brother's basketball game. Fast forward to two days after meeting, we immediately knew we were going to marry each other. We didn't waste much time. Get engaged. Get married. Buy a house. Rescue a few animals. That about brings us up-to-date.
In the fall of 2016 I went to Ukraine with a volunteer team to interview kids who would hopefully be coming to America to spend Christmas with a family. While in Ukraine there was a particular boy who stood out. During the remainder of the trip I referred to him as her "number one pick" if they were to host. Rick's Spider sense was tingling and he knew when I returned I'd be wanting to bring someone into our home for Christmas.
The kids arrived at O'Hare on December 11th. Rick and Tolya had a quick introduction and were on their way home less than five minutes after first meeting. I had to stay to back at the airport to get kids on their connecting flights. Tolya stayed with us for the next (and best) 27 days. These were incredibly busy weeks filled with Christmas and New Year's celebrations and plenty of gift giving. One of the sweetest moments was being able to see him open his first gift on Christmas Eve, a watch from Rick's parents.
After the time spent with him they knew they wanted him to be part of our family. Bringing Tolya home is our number one priority. We will stop at nothing to make this happen but if you are able to help ease the financial burden it would bless us greatly.
