Hey friends, I am asking for you to give toward the Clark and Vahle Educational Drop-In Center. It will give hope to hundreds of families in the Mathare slums of Nairobi, Kenya.
It will be a bridge of remembrance of two amazing young men that passed away suddenly, Tim Clark and Josh Vahle. They both were men of faith and character and gave their time and attention to youth and education.
Tim Clark graduated from Miami University with an Elementary Education degree and went on to become a teacher and technology specialist for schools in Cincinnati.
Josh Vahle graduated from Taylor University with a Secondary Education degree. He was respected by his XC teammates and coaches, teachers, and friends there. His students loved how approachable and kind he was.
Both Tim and Josh cared deeply for the hurting and often forgotten.
This gift you give will go to serve the underserved and remember Tim and Josh. We will have a plaque in their honor on the wall with their pictures and all those that participated in giving toward this to remember for years to come.
Your gift will be used within DAYS and put right to work. Over 95% of it will be used directly for the building.
Oasis of Hope cares deeply for the hurting and forgotten and is in desperate need of space to serve families. There is over 200 youth involved every week with only a dirty, small community hall. They do not have their own space to serve the community. This picture is from October 9 where volunteers shared God's Word, singing, snacks, and love to over 200 youth.
This Clark and Vahle Educational Drop-In Center will provide a place for youth and families to:
Meet weekly to hear of God's love for them and feel it through relationships with staff and volunteers.
Office space for staff and volunteers to meet with youth and families that need encouragement and a friend.
Daily tutoring.
Weekly Work For Life small business training for adults.
Computer training, art and film classes, and so much more.
A church to meet there on Sunday mornings for worship.
Would you please prayerfully consider a one-time donation to help us meet this need of $10,000 by October 30? We have $6000 raised right now. Below is a man working on the cement of the ceiling of the first floor from October 6th. You can see all the tin roofs around as this is being built right in the middle of the slums. It is so strategic and awesome to be right where the need is!
Thank you beyond words for caring enough to read this, pray, and sacrifice for others through what you have been given. Please click the "donate to this fundraiser" on this page that will give you a tax-deductable way to give online or through mailing in a check.
If you prefer to give quickly through Venmo without tax benefits you can send it to @Brian-Clark-136 or Cashapp $BrianKClark7 and I will get it there right away.
Learn more about Oasis of Hope:
Oasis of Hope's mission is to share God's love with action and our consistent presence. Jacob and Maureen have been serving in the Mathare slums of Nairobi through Oasis of Hope for six years, mostly by themselves. It was in January of 2020 that his friend in South Africa that he grew up with in Mathare decided to take action and connect Oasis of Hope to People Bridge with Brian and Erin Clark.
Jacob grew up there and knows the way of life, the isolation, poverty, and the needs. He meets weekly with over 200 children and knows their families. Along with volunteers, they love and serve in this slum area.
Jacob and Maureen are gatekeepers in their community. They are known and trusted by local government officials, churches, and community leaders. They are the only full-time nonprofit that is focused on children holistically and meeting that need in their area.
Please prayerfully consider a generous one-time donation to help us meet this need.
Thank you in advance for your giving and care to make this happen!
