Kendrick Fincher Hydration for Life is helping individuals of all ages lead healthier and safer lives through our mission to promote proper hydration and prevent heat illness! With the NWA Gives fundraiser, we are raising funds for our spring and summer educational programs!
Kendrick Fincher was a 13-year-old young man who wanted to try football. On his first day of football practice in 1995--due to a deadly combination of heat, humidity, and not having enough to drink--he experienced heat stroke and died 18 days later from multi-system organ failure as a result of heat stroke. At that time, there was no education on proper hydration and heat illness prevention. We began to educate anyone who would listen and work with coaches, parents and youth to save lives!
The funding raised through NWA Gives will provide funds for squeeze bottles, bottle carriers for coaches, pamphlet printing, and new equipment for our cooling stations!
Thank you for being a part of our mission! See below for more information on who we are and what we do!
