Our CARE program gives Loving Choices the opportunity to develop
deep, meaningful relationships with Mommas and Dads.
It is in the CARE program that they meet weekly with a long-term mentor,
one for the Mom and now one for the Dad.
They do parenting classes, Bible studies, long range goal planning and
life together. We invest and pour into
our clients and anxiously wait to meet their new blessing. When a miscarriage or stillborn birth
happens, we are there to mourn with them and offer love and support. That is exactly what happened to one sweet
family. Both parents had been participating
in our CARE program for 6 months when the unthinkable occurred. At 29 weeks, our client delivered a stillborn
baby girl. For reasons unknown, their
daughter wasn’t given the opportunity of life.
Needless to say, this young family was devastated. While still in the hospital, they called
their mentors with the horrific news. It
was then they were told about our grief baskets. Grief baskets are filled with pampering items
such as lotion, bubble bath, fuzzy socks, a planter with flower seeds, a
candle, the book Grieving the Child I Never Knew, a small wooden cross, a gift
card for a meal and other small items to comfort the parents. On their way home from the hospital they came
to Loving Choices for their basket. We
were able to give them something tangible to comfort them and it also gave us
the opportunity to pray together, cry together and love on them.
20-25 percent of pregnancies end in a miscarriage or stillborn birth. We are fundraising today for our grief baskets. Please help us
