About this Fundraiser

My Story
Growing up I didn't have any Biblical foundation or truth to know who I am and Whose I was. I was raised by a single mother who worked 2 jobs. The hardest working mother I know and exemplified Christ's love for me by her selfless sacrifice. However, I was agnostic at best and didn't know who God was through our redemptive Savior in Jesus Christ. With lack of my identity, I would seek just about anything that would accept me. Everything from alcohol, drugs, unhealthy relationships, parties, and status from either sports or social peers.

I finally came to know the Lord when I turned 25. It wasn't until I was 30 years of age that I hit my "pit" in life, due to a failed toxic relationship, that I knew I wanted to really seek and follow Christ. Since then God has shown me and blessed me with amazing Community, Discipleship, Recovery in Re:Generation, ChristFit, the list could go on and on. I am thank for our Father in Heaven who revealed his saving grace through Jesus Christ and never stopped loving me, caring for me, or pursuing me. Thank you Lord!!

Witnessing His Work in Ethiopia
With that being said, God has opened this opportunity for me to go back to equip, evangelize, and assist the establishment of the church, to help those who have not heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Ethiopia. Just like my story, there are many who don't know about a Loving Father who is intimately pursuing and patiently waiting for his sons and daughters to come home. I've also prayed to God that he would get me out of my comfort zone to trust Him and be courageous. Well, what better opportunity than this. Thank you Lord!

Here's briefly what God, through our partnership, showed me last year in July 2016. Our team got to witness a beautiful country with people who are welcoming and starving for hope. Since coffee originated in Ethiopia, it is customary to be invited to many homes as guests where they would brew coffee for you from scratch. We had 5 working days and 4 of those days we had the opportunity to evangelize and witness in areas within the capital city Addis Ababa, to back alleys, and to farmlands. Our team spoke to hundreds of people from either Ethiopian Orthodox or Muslim backgrounds. We enjoyed playing soccer and football with the children in local villages and afterwards we get the opportunity have story time with the kids and use our evangecube to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. On our 5th working day we visited a human/sex trafficking shelter to hear about the organization’s mission of rescuing and restoring women from forced labor and sex trafficking. At the end of our trip we were told by our translators and disciple makers that over a 100 people came to faith and received Jesus Christ in their lives. Praise GOD!

God really opened my heart and my eyes to so many things. First and foremost the opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and witness Gods love penetrate the hearts of those who are starving for something more and to even soften the hearts of those who were hostile towards it. In addition to seeing the Power of the Gospel moving is also realizing the reality of witnessing those who reject the Gospel and see close encounters of persecution. Either way God is Sovereign and in control. In addition God showed me how much we as a nation are discontent with so many resources we have compared to the contentment of the Ethiopian community with very little resources they do have. Finally God showed me, regardless of where I’m at or you’re at, there is someone praying to God asking Him to reveal Himself and wanting to know about the hope of Jesus Christ. Therefore we’ve been given that Gift to go and share. The question is will we get outside of our comfort zone to share it with our family member, neighbor, co worker, those people at your local gym or box, or where ever you frequent the most, or will we take the Gift of Jesus Christ that was reveled in our lives and just “sit on the sidelines and not get in the game?”

Thank you all for partnering with me so we can share the Glory of The Lord through our AMAZING King Jesus Christ.

Blessings!!
