This feels scary. A bit vulnerable. But here is our prayer,

May God bless us with enough foolishness to believe that we really CAN make a difference in this world, so that we are able,with God's grace, to do what others claim cannot be done.

We have been accepted into the Uganda program and are currently in the process of piles of paperwork and waiting to be matched with our child. Once we are matched we will begin a year long foster process which is required by Ugandan Law before finalizing the adoption in the States. We are currently enrolled in a program where the children are ages 0-4 which means our sweet babe is likely sleeping under the Ugandan stars tonight with that red Ugandan clay covering their feet. Knowing the child God has for your family is sleeping anywhere but in the safety of your arms, stirs up a little fire in you to be foolish enough. Foolish enough to believe that brave love can remake a child's life. Foolish enough to believe that brave love can remake the world. Foolish enough to believe that dollar amounts can't seperate us from Gods love or faithfulness.

Our decision to adopt wasn't spontaneous. It was a desire planted in our hearts years ago. There it sat for many many years, waiting for the soil to be tilled- waiting for God to water a prayer into a reality. We waited. And then one day through a quote in a bible study by Jennie Allen, the soil started stirring. "To be people who God choses to display His power through- We must be people who chose holiness over comfort." This quote along with what we know to be true spurred on putting one foot in front of the other + taking steps toward Adoption.

Heres the the honest to goodness end of the day truth: God has asked us to step out in faith. So we're saying a big ol yes and holding on tight to him and his promises. We don't have all the answers. We're learning so much as we go. But we want to be people who God chooses to display His glory through. So we're choosing holiness over comfort. And choosing to trust in a God who is a redeemer by nature.

The adoption costs approximately 30,000.00 total. This amount is not for our child but for the process. It pays lawyers, courts, agencies, and many people in between to ensure that our adoption is done under the most ethical practices and is in the best interest of the child. Yes we have saved, cut Starbucks from our budget, as well as lots of extras but we still need our village to bring our babe home. Join our village. Write our redemption story alongside us. Prayers specifically needed for the safety and comfort of our child. That they would feel fought for and worthy of our love. That they would feel the love of the Father far before they feel safe in our arms. As well as a covering over our family as we step out in faith. That we would be united, stand firm in Gods promises--- seeking justice, loving mercy, walking humbly. And of course never losing that foolish enough fire. Or our faith that God is who He says He is.
