About this Fundraiser

Hi everyone, David and I have decided to adopt a 14 month old boy from Armenia who has some special needs. As we progress further in the process we would love to provide pictures- but we promise her is super cute! This little guy was "dumped" into an orphanage at birth due to being born without part of his left arm, bilateral shortened fibulas, and club feet. His lower extremity birth defects have been partially corrected via surgery, thus allowing him to walk. He will still need 3 to 4 surgeries as he ages to continue to ensure his lower legs lengthen properly. After hearing this child's story we had one question- why would he be left at an orphanage when he could still walk, play, and was cognitively advanced? We have since learned that in Armenia, children with physical disabilities are unwanted and not socially accepted in society. To hear a child with so much potential was "thrown away" because of limb differences broke our heart and led us to be determined to bring him home into a family who will support him into becoming the successful adult we know he can be.

Can you help us bring him home and give him a chance? We appreciate any support you can give, from a share, kind words or advice, to financial assistance. So many Americans want to adopt, but only 2% actually do. With your help we can become part of that 2% and give "our" deserving young man a chance to blossom.

We are in for a long road from home studies, UCIS approval, Armenian approval to adopt, to actually being able to bring him home and we would love to share this journey with you all!

Please note that donations are tax deductible and we appreciate any help or support given!

Love,

The McDaniels
