Honduras is an important country in Central America with a population of about 9.2 million. We will do our work in the city of Choluteca, in southern Honduras between El Salvador and Nicaragua. The main thing you find about this area is its tie to Mayan culture. "Ruinas" or ruins lets us know that we will see archeological findings dated back to the Mayan Empire. Some stats you see state that Honduras is a "Christian" nation. When speaking to some pastors they say this is simply not true. They believe that at most 20% of the country’s population has any kind of religious affiliation. This trip will include a medical component so we can take care of the physical man but we will also be sharing the gospel and doing discipleship so we can take care of the spiritual needs.
