Dear friends and family,

I want to share with you an opportunity that I have been blessed with in this new year. Through Loma Linda University School of Nursing, I will be traveling to Botswana, Africa and conducting my Public Health clinical experience abroad from June 11 through July 10, 2017. I will be traveling with a team of student nurses and Loma Linda Nursing Faculty to several clinics where we will get the experience of sharing God's love through our nursing practice. We will be assigned to a clinic during the duration of our trip and will be able to witness firsthand the medical crisis and need for providing quality whole-person nursing care to those in need. This trip will truly be our way of blessing those in Botswana, learning about their culture, and continuing to advance our nursing skills.

I'm excited about the opportunity and experience that lie ahead through this trip. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people. My goal is to raise $3,000 by June 1st (which is the total cost of the trip). Much more important than financial assistance though, is prayer and support.  This will be a "once-in-a lifetime" experience and being able to care for and gain hands on clinical experience in the field is something I can take with me throughout my nursing journey/career. Prayer is the fuel that will allow me to be successful through this trip. As many of you may know, nursing has truly been God's way of directing my life and I can say without doubt that I am where He wants me to be. I want to ask if I can count on your support and prayers for safety of our team, the strength to provide quality care, and open hearts and minds to share the love we have for those in need.

LLU School of Nursing Botswana SUMMER 2017

Each summer, students from LLU's School of Nursing travel to Botswana as part of their Public Health Nursing (PHN) course. The PHN course focuses on the optimal wellness of the client community in partnership with local nursing staff serving the community often in Primary Health Centers.

Nursing students who have participated in this international experience have found it life-changing, eye-opening, and an inspiration for themselves and people with whom they have shaped their experience. You can be a part of this life-changing experience for students by making a donation today!
