Argentina is a highly educated country with abundant natural resources. Beef, soybeans, wheat, and corn are mainstays. Its climate ranges from subpolar in the south to subtropical in the north, making it home to everything from hummingbirds to some species of penguins. As the second largest country in South America, its influence cannot be overstated. But fewer than 5% of the 46 million citizens of Argentina profess Christ as their Lord and Savior.
We are working with Pastor Roman (Rivers of Living Water Church) with their church planting efforts in the community of Presidente Derqui. The population of Presidente Derqui is approximately 52,000. This will be a unique opportunity to reach the people of Argentina with the story of Jesus. In addition to taking the gospel to the streets, we will also encourage and disciple existing Christians. As people give their lives over to Jesus, they will be connected with the local church (pastor and members) who will establish new small groups and churches, ensuring a lasting impact in the region.
