Help me share Jesus with Bedouins in Israel!!
by Libbie McCullen 100 Lives Impacted United States
Hi!Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! :DI am so excited for this opportunity! God has made my heart hurt for those that do not know Jesus ...
The name Bedouin comes from the Arab word “Bedou,” translated “desert dweller.” Nothing could better describe the lives of these people who live throughout the Middle East. Over 2 million Bedouins reside in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel, quietly tending to livestock in their remote villages. They adhere to a strict social hierarchy that involves close attention to their code of honor. As the western world slowly encroaches on their lives, some Bedouins have abandoned their traditional lifestyle and moved into nearby cities.
A large contingency of Bedouins currently live in the regions of Negev and Galilee in Israel, often in unrecognized villages. This makes them ineligible for municipal resources and certain citizenship rights. An estimated 110,000 Bedouins have settled into 50 of these villages, comprising 2% of the Israeli state population.
While Christian resources are available in their Arabic tongue, less the .3% of the people profess Christ, making them largely unengaged. This expedition is our chance to venture into the uncharted Bedouin villages of Israel, where we will come face-to-face with this amazing community. We will build new relationships, demonstrate the love of Christ, and serve these incredible people!
