I have made two trips to Haiti with Help One Now and I hope you will consider donating to this project. It will be a great way to bless, encourage and support some great leaders and students. Would you be willing to donate $100 for a "virtual" backpack? If not, you can give any amount and all of it will be used to reach students in Haiti!
Backpacks of Hope is the 2013 Legacy Project from Help One Now. This December, we will raise $100,000 to empower our six leaders in Haiti, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Ethiopia by selling 1,000 “backpacks” for $100 each.
These will not be actual backpacks nor the physical things that backpacks often carry, such as notebooks or pencils. Rather, we are asking you to invest in what those things represent to students across the world: education, opportunity, HOPE.
The tools that Backpacks of Hope will provide will be unique to each of our six leaders. For example, Pastor Gaétan hopes to open a computer lab and a library. Pastor Jean-Alix will be opening a preschool and kindergarten, allowing older children to attend school rather than needing to care for their younger siblings, as well as allowing the younger children to start their education early. Pastor John in Zimbabwe will be constructing a playground and a study room, as well as expanding his kitchen so he is able to serve even more children in his region.
Whether you fund a “backpack” yourself, or want to gather your friends, family, and social media tribe to pitch in together, your support will change the lives of students in Uganda, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, and Haiti!
