We have BIG news!

We are adopting a child!

We are so excited to announce that we are preparing to expand our family through adoption. As part of our adoption journey, we are raising money to help cover the various costs associated with the process. You may be surprised to hear that the fees for domestic adoption are around $30,000. In an effort to raise money, our kids will be holding car washes, setting up lemonade stands, doing yard work, and more, while we pursue opportunities to generate income and other fundraising options to help cover the costs. We set up this site so that anyone who feels led to give may do so through a tax-deductible donation.

But, wait... Don't you already have 4 children? Why do you need another?
Yes, we do have 4 children already, but our desire to adopt isn't about adding another child to our family. Actually, our children have been one of the driving forces behind us pursuing adoption. At a very early age, our oldest son began to ask about adoption, and each of our children has asked about adopting at various times over the last several years. We believe that God has placed in each of our hearts the desire to expand our family through adoption. Our heart is to do "to the least of these" (Matt. 25:40), it is to care for the orphans (James 1:27), and it is to be obedient to the gentle nudging of God in each of our hearts.

OK, but why now? Aren't you guys a bit, uh, "far down the road" to be adopting?
While it may seem like we should be drawing closer to the end of our parenting journey, we feel like now is the perfect time to adopt. This child will have 4 older siblings who are eager to pour into his/her life and gladly welcome him/her into our family.

Besides that, Abraham and Sarah were 100 and 90, respectively, when they had Isaac (Gen. 17:17). So...

We have chosen to adopt through Christian Adoption Services in Matthews, NC. We chose them because their mission is to "connect vulnerable children with Christian families." Not only that, but they also invest in the birth mothers both during and after the pregnancy.

We hope by giving you the opportunity to be a part of the community that we build up around our child, you will feel part of our journey and know how much we value your participation through your time, prayer, and resources. We can't wait to see how God provides!
