My Dear Friends and Family,

I am so excited about the opportunity I have to travel to MamaBaby Haiti this year, April 15th-25th. The midwife that delivered both my boys helped open this birth center in 2010. I have been hoping to go for years now, but the timing was never right. I am now hearing the call to go and I am looking forward to assisting and learning from the Haitians I am fortunate enough to meet on this trip. 

MamaBaby Haiti is a free birth center in Northern Haiti that provides free prenatal, birth, and postnatal care for moms and their babies. Haiti has the highest infant and maternal mortality rate in the Western Hemisphere, a fact that can easily be remedied by the access to safe and thorough maternity care. I'll serve medically in the clinic alongside the Haitian midwives to deliver babies, do prenatal and postnatal care, and take care of the Haitian community that comes in to the clinic daily.
